Flaming Lips Parts List

As a follow up to my purist Tim Burgess minifigure I have been working on purist customs of other bands featured on Tim’s Twitter Listening Parties. The first one is the Flaming Lips, which I posted on Twitter. I got some very nice feedback on this and also a few enquiries about the parts used, so here is the full breakdown of the parts I used to create the scene. I have listed all the official part names below as well as giving a link to the BrickLink page for the relevant part which will show people currently selling it. I have also added a complete parts list as a free download on my Payhip. The download is an xml file that can easily be copied into BrickLink to add all of the parts to a wanted list automatically, which then makes ordering all the parts very easy – there are instructions on how to do this on the Payhip page.

Note that the final image posted on Twitter has been edited, I am providing the list of parts I used to create the individual minifigures before any photo editing. The main changes made with photo editing were to make the Luke Skywalker hair grey, to add some detail to beards, and of course to make all the hats fit on to the heads (the hat you can buy from this list will not attach to the hair pieces unless you use some blutack or similar). I have listed the exact heads that I used, but as some of them are from older, harder to find figures, you can of course experiment and use any other minifgure head that has an expression you like. The list below is grouped by the common parts (torso, legs and hat), followed by the heads and hair pieces for each figure in the order seen on the photo (back row left to right, then front row left to right). You will need seven sets of the torso, legs and hat if you want to make all the figures!
